Katharine Hope McPhee (born May 6, 1976) is an American singer, songwriter and actress. In May of 2006, McPhee placed second on American Idol's fifth season. The 30th of January, 2007 her debut album titled "My Name Is" was released by RCA Records. It debuted as number 2 on Billboard 200 and sold 381,000 copies. After leaving Scorpion her role, she was cast in the role of Jenna Hunterson in Waitress on Broadway in 2018. In 2019 and 2020 she returned to Broadway in the same role. The past couple of years, she's recorded four more follow-up albums to her debut self-titled solo. Taylor Hicks won the 5th season of American Idol in May 2006. Katharine McNee took home the title of American Idol in the month of May. The 29-year old had already beaten Chris Daughtry & Kellie Peckler.
